GRAND JUNCTION, CO - As they battle for a spot in the RMAC playoffs the Cougars fell to the Mavericks to a 4-0 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED - In the first 30 seconds Colorado Mesa's Lila Dere had a shot from 20 yards out, unassisted, firing a shot over the top of the Cougar's goalkeeper, Ireland Van Dyke.
Again in the next minute the Mavericks got the ball, regardless of the Cougars coming out aggressive, down the line all the way to the touch line and crossed it back to the center of the goal. There was a Maverick forward who was able to just touch it in just feet in front of the goal.
Unfortunately, the Cougars usual attacking tactic was not too effective against the Mavericks.
In the second half, in the 26th minute of the second half Colorado Mesa scored their third goal at the 20 yard line at the near post. With just 13 minutes left the Mavericks crossed the ball in from the outside and a Colorado Mesa's forward headed the ball into the back of the net making the score 4-0.
