Dixon's Late Goal Lifts Cougars to Win Number Seven

ALAMOSA, CO – When a winning streak comes to an end, the only way to start the next one is to get a victory in your next opportunity. The Cougars did exactly that.

Just 48 hours removed from their first setback in seven games, the Colorado Christian men's soccer team got back into the win column with a 2-1 victory at Adams State.

The win also gives the Cougars their first conference win as all RMAC teams began league games this weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED: A fairly pedestrian first half saw the home team registered four shots with the Cougars notching three as each team was held scoreless.

Liam Lakey continued her torrid scoring streak in the early stage of the second half. In the 59th minute, the senior scored his fifth goal of the season from just outside of six yards with a shot that went into the left side of the goal month. Gabe Roloff assisted on the net-finder.

In the 72nd minute the Grizzles found the equalizer as Benjiman Rogers struck a ball into the right side of the goal to knot the score at 1-1. It didn't remain that way very long.

Caiden Dixon scored his first collegiate goal in the 79th minute. The game winning goal was assisted by Lucca Casci. That shot was Dixon's first shot on goal this season and just his fourth overall as a collegian.
