Cougars Fall to Regis in Chilly Conditions

LAKEWOOD, CO – In high 30's temperatures Colorado Christian and Regis battled it out at Trailblazer Stadium.

A fast paced Regis attack paced the game as the Rangers went up 3-0 early in the first half and scored once more in the waning moments of the second half as the Rangers won, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars gave up a penalty early in the game, as Regis buried the kick to put the Rangers up 1-0 in the 8th minute of play.

The Cougars fought back in the first but could not find the back of the net as they had one shot on goal that was saved by the Regis keeper.

In the second half the Cougars defense settled down and forced more manageable shots for the keeper to save, Taya Starnes had three shots that just missed the net and Anna Stephens hit the right post as the Cougars continued to threaten the Rangers lead. Alaina Kregel had a shot on goal in the 86th minute but was thwarted by the keeper as that was the last chance the Cougars had to score.
