Mines Takes Sunday Contest

GOLDEN, CO – Beautiful setting for the beautiful game did not net the result Colorado Christian wanted.

The defending RMAC champions scored all six of the game's goals on a most sunny, comfortable spring day at Stermole Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED: In the 15th minute the Orediggers scored they initial goal when Talon Stanley scored an unassisted goal. Azad Iliozer gave the home team a two-goal edge just before halftime off an assist from Ryan Wilson in the 42nd minute.

Less than four minutes into the second half, the home team netted their third goal when Stanley took a centering feed from Ryan Wilson. Colorado School of Mines added their fourth net-finder when Tristan Semelsberger registered a goal from the penalty spot.

The fifth goal came from Connor van Loveren from in close after passes from Baptiste Debuire and Iliozer in the 68th minute. Zane Sokolowski completed the scoring in the 89th minute with a blast from 10 yards that deflect off a Cougar defender and into the back of the cage.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

  • Jorge Lopez and Gabe Roloff each took two shots for the Cougas
  • Colorado School of Mines took 21 of the game's 26 total shots
  • Michel Pinoncely earned playing time at goalie for the third time this season as a substitute

UP NEXT: The Cougars play their final home game of the season on Saturday, April 3 when they host Fort Lewis.
