Historic Start After Fourth Straight Win

LINDSBORG, KS – The Cougars made their first trip to Kansas and came away with a fair amount of school history.

On Saturday evening the Colorado Christian men's soccer team scored a goal in each half to notch a 2-0 victory against Bethany.

After shutting out Tabor 48 hours early, the Cougars posted the program's first back-to-back shutouts since the 2000 campaign. Moreover, the program is 4-0 for the first time in school history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  The opening 45 minutes were predominantly played in the Cougars offense. As the teams went to the locker room, Colorado Christian held an 8-1 shot advantage and took all of the four corner kicks in the stanza.

Despite being a scoreless game for nearly the entire stanza, the Cougars first half persistence finally paid off late in the period. On the Cougars seven shot of the game, Larsen Hanlin found the back of the cage with his first goal of the season in the 41st minute.

As the first moments of the second half unfolded, each team had a quality opportunity. Bethany put a shot on frame but a team save by the Cougars kept the contest at 1-0. Aidan McGeown has a shot on goal in the 68th minute by a Swede team save allowed them to stay within on-goal.

In the 85th minutes, the Cougars sealed the win. Gabe Roloff scored his first collegiate goal off an assist from Dmitri Fabro.

Max Collingwood extended his shutout streak by making a pair of saves and playing just under 73 minutes. Michel Pinoncely saw his first collegiate action in front of the cage in replacing Collingwood.
