LAKEWOOD, CO – Saturday nights effort by the Colorado Christian volleyball team was a like a fine wine. It only got better with age. Fortunately, it only took 84 minutes to age well.
The Cougars continued to play better as the sets ticked away in recording a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-17) victory over Western Colorado.
It ended Colorado Christian's brief opening homestand with a 1-1 mark as they began RMAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars offense was the story as they posted a season best .343 hitting percentage. It was the program's best hitting effort since an Oct. 27, 2018 match against Westminster when the Cougars registered a .414 hitting mark.
Colorado Christian was swinging well from the first serve. They notched a .303 hitting mark in the opening frame. Late in the stanza Western Colorado pulled within 18-16 put never got their deficit under than two-point margin as the home team took the early edge.
The second frame saw a bit of a see-saw battle before the Cougars took a 15-15 score and made it 23-17 in their favor. The Cougars closed out the frame with a .321 hitting percentage to tee up the best stanza of the evening.
During that last set, Colorado Christian didn't commit one hitting error as they registered a .395 hitting percentage in recording their first sweep of the season.

- Kristy Dick notched eight kills on her 12 wins without an error (.667 hitting percentage)
- Madelyn Long tallied 16 digs along the back lines
