ALAMOSA, CO – Another season. Another 4-0 start.
For the second straight year, the Colorado Christian men's soccer teams starts the season with four straight wins after their 2-1 overtime victory at Adams State.
During the spring 2021 campaign, the Cougars started with four straight victories for the first time in school history. Now, they have done it again.
Each of the squad's wins this season have come by a 2-1 count.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Just two minutes into the game Gabe Roloff scored his third goal of the season. Jorge Lopez played a ball into the box from 40 yards out before Roloff won the 50/50 ball and deposited it into the back of the net.
Colorado Christian continued to control the game, as the home team was held without a shot until the late stages of regulation.
The Grizzles first shot of the game also resulted in a goal. In the 82nd minute Adams State scored when Dante Mangayi controlled a loose ball in the box and booted it over the goal line. It was the only shot Adams State recorded in the game.
Less than two minutes into overtime, Roloff drew a foul in the box when attempting a shot. On the ensuing penalty kick, Lopez directed a beautiful placed right footed kick into the left side of the goal mouth and past the outstretched arms of Adams State goalkeeper Zach Carr.
