Cougars Claim Another Road Victory

LIBERTY, MO – Who needs to play at home when you are having this kind of road success? The Colorado Christian men's soccer team is enjoying the travel.

On Saturday afternoon a brief weather delay couldn't delay the Colorado Christian road warrior mentality. For the seventh time in their last eight road games, the Cougars came away victorious as they posted a 2-1 win at William Jewell.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The duo of Gabe Roloff and Tobi Osifodunin were vital in the goal scoring as they combined for both goals and an assist.

In the 16th minute, Osifodunin hit a great ball from midfield into the offensive end where Roloff outraced the William Jewell goalie to the ball. Roloff's header from 20 yards out easily found the back of the net since the goalie was outside the goalie box in trying to defend the one-on-one opportunity.

The Cougars scored what proved to be the game winner in the 74th minute. Adrian Diez hit a shot from about eight yards that was saved but the Osifodunin cleaned up the deflection as he eventually back healed the ball into the back of the cage from right in front of an open net.

William Jewell broke the Cougars shutout with a goal in the 88th minute when Sage Smotherman found the back of the net. It was the game's final shot.
