Cougars Fall to Mavericks in Tough Match

LAKEWOOD,CO- Colorado Christian (3-11-0) was home again against Colorado Mesa (7-6-1) who came in with a strong showing and defeated Colorado Christian despite their strong efforts with a score of 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Colorado Mesa had a strong opening in the first half with a goal before five minutes scored by Lila Dere assisted by Haley Klasner. The passing Mesa showed was precise and they took their time with the ball which led to a lot of great shots with even better playmaking. After about twenty minutes of fighting for the ball and shots, Mesa scored around twenty minutes into the game with a shot taken by Dere assisted once again by Klasner. The competition began to get intense as Colorado Christian was fighting with their all against the strong showing Mesa brought along. Mesa then had Mikayla Eccher net in a goal assisted by Peyton Bundy.

The game slowed down for a bit after the half until Mesa decided to net in one last goal by Addie Randel assisted by Haley Klasner for the third time. Alaina Kregel forced a save in the 62nd minute, and Saige Stock came close in the 67th but was denied again. The two teams battled to the end, but the Cougars were unable to put anything into the back of the net as they ultimately fell 4-0.
