PUEBLO, CO- Colorado Christian traveled to Pueblo to take on CSU Pueblo on Thursday evening. After a competitive first half, the Thunderwolves pulled away in the second period for a 4-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED- CSU Pueblo started fast in the first period, netting an early goal to take a quick 1-0 advantage. Several more shots from the Thunderwolves were saved by keeper Ashleigh Maguire as she kept the deficit just 1-0. In the 21st minute, Kaitlynn Hogan pounced for an equalizer as things stood tied at 1-1. A late shot from CSU Pueblo hit the right frame as halftime arrived with a 1-1 deadlock.
Capri Dewing got off an early shot to start the second half, but saw it saved by the Thunderwolves keeper. Maguire continued to play well, saving a pair of CSU Pueblo shots on goal. The Thunderwolves broke through in the 66th minute with a goal to take the 2-1 lead, and they did not stop there. Two quick fire goals in the 77th stretched the lead to 4-1, and CSU Pueblo hung on from there for a 4-1 win.
