GREELEY, CO- Colorado Christian headed north on Tuesday evening for an exhibition against Northern Colorado. In a thrilling affair, the Cougars took down the division one Bears by a point with clutch play down the stretch, making an extremely impressive early season statement. 

Jason Gallant was tremendous all night, scoring 27 points to lead the offense, including 8-14 shooting from the field and seven rebounds. Maro Egodotaye tallied 12 points and seven rebounds as he was strong on the boards all night. Gallant didn't just score, but also facilitated well, dishing out a team high five assists. 

The Cougars had eight points off turnovers to UNC's four, while CCU also led in second chance points 14-9. The Cougars did not compete like they were a division below the Bears, out rebounding them 43-35 with 35 defensive rebounds on the night. 

Gallant gave his team the late lead with a pair of free throws, but CCU faced defeat with the final horn nearing trailing by one. However, Egodotaye refused to let his team lose, finishing a layup with just five seconds left to secure a thrilling 70-69 victory for the Cougars. 

Following the statement victory over the Bears, Colorado Christian will be back in action on November 25 at home against Westcliff University at 5 p.m.
