ALAMOSA,CO- The Cougars traveled to take on Adams State for a Friday Doubleheader with a 23 game win streak on the line. Colorado Christian continued their dominance, taking home victories by the score of 11-0 and 9-1 to push the streak to 25.
GAME ONE
Sydney Reamer started the scoring for her team, picking up an RBI single in the first inning. The second was where the Cougars stretched the lead in a big way, starting with an RBI single from Logan Menzies. Miki Berg singled home another run before Sami Edwards picked up an RBI groundout.
Taylor Olsen then singled home two more as the runs continued to come. Kayla Middleton tripled home another pair of runs and Menzies capped the inning with her second RBI on another single in the same inning to make it 9-0. Middleton put the icing on an excellent game with another triple in the fourth and she scored on a wild pitch as Colorado Christian sealed an 11-0 victory.
Alexis Hamilton continued to dominate with her 16th victory of the year on an incredible performance, no-hitting the Grizzlies with five innings of 11 strikeout pitching. Hamilton's brilliant no-hitter is the first time the feat has been achieved in program history.
GAME TWO
Piper Lujan got the offense started early, picking up a two RBI double in the first to push her team ahead. Adams State responded with a run in their half of the first before Berg scored on a wild pitch in the second to make it 3-1.
The Cougars broke it open in the fourth, as Menzies doubled home two runs. Berg then stepped up and slammed a two-run shot to stretch the lead. Olsen put the capper on the inning with another two-run blast as the lead grew to 9-1.
Abrie Castillo finished off the victory with a complete game, allowing one run on two hits and five strikeouts for her 15th victory of the year.
UP NEXT- The Cougars will play another doubleheader at Adams State on April 16 with games at 11 a.m and 1 p.m.
