Colorado Christian played two today in Pueblo and split going 1-1. The Cougs took the victory in the first game as they squared off against CSU-Pueblo by a final score of 9-5. Game two the team took on Metro State but was unable to come away with the second straight victory over the Roadrunners as they fell by a final of 6-2.

Jordan Medina got the scoring kicked off for the CCU in the first inning as he doubled to score
Kade Carney and put the Cougars up 1-0. CSU-Pueblo answered back in their half of the first inning as they pushed three runs across to take the lead 3-1 after one inning of play.

Tyler Fischer settled down after the first inning and took control of the game and shut down the Thunderwolves offense. Fischer threw six innings allowing three runs (one earned), seven hits, and struck out five.

The Cougars offense rattled off eight unanswered runs to take a commanding 9-3 lead highlighted by a three-run homerun off the bat of
Wyatt Crenshaw.
Justin Estrada took over on the mound in the seventh inning and pitched the final three innings of the game allowing two runs and struck out seven batters. His stellar relief performance earned him his first save of the season.

Game 2:Â Â Â Â Squaring off against Metro State for the second straight day on the neutral field in Pueblo CCU was unable to come away with the victory. Metro State starting pitcher Tyler Phillips kept the Cougars bats silenced throughout much of the game as CCU was only able to gather five hits and scored two runs.

Russell Crus came away with two hits in the game as he went 2-3 with a double and drew a walk. Zach Waslewski worked a strong inning in relief as he didn't allow any hits or runs and struck out two.

With the results today the Cougars overall record now sits at 9-18, and 7-8 in conference play. They will be back in action on Sunday morning for their series finale game against CSU-Pueblo. First pitch is at 11AM MST.
