LAS VEGAS, NM- Colorado Christian hit the road for their final regular season series, starting with a doubleheader at New Mexico Highlands on Friday. The Cougars took care of business, run-ruling the Cowgirls 10-1 and 12-2.  

GAME ONE
The offense got right to work to start the day as Taylor Olsen picked up a sacrifice fly to score Kenzie Middleton and Sydney Reamer uncorked a solo homer to left field. They built from there as Kayla Middleton led off the second with a solo blast followed by a two-run shot from Logan Menzies to make it 5-0.

Miki Berg put the game out of reach in the third, blasting a three-run homer to left center to make it 8-0. Kenzie Middleton doubled home another run later in the inning to head to the fourth with the score 9-0 Cougars. Piper Lujan finished off the scoring for her team with an RBI double as a late run from New Mexico Highlands was not enough in a 10-1 CCU win.

Alexis Hamilton upped her win total on the year to 19 as she recorded seven strikeouts and issued no walks on just one run allowed. 

GAME TWO
Menzies started off the second contest with her second homer of the day, this time a three-run shot to put her team up early. She continued with an RBI double in the fourth to make it 4-0, and Kenzie Middleton singled home another run. Olsen snagged another RBI with a sac fly, and the score stood at 6-2 heading to the fifth.

An offensive explosion highlighted the fifth inning as the Cougars broke things wide open. Kayla Middleton singled home a run and Menzies picked up her fifth RBI of the game with another double. Sami Edwards smacked a two-run single, and Reamer singled home another run. Lujan once again closed the scoring for her team with an RBI single as Colorado Christian took the victory 12-2 via run-rule. 

Abrie Castillo got the win, posting her 18th victory of the year with four strikeouts and just three hits allowed.

UP NEXT- The Cougars will close the regular season with a doubleheader on April 30 at New Mexico Highlands with first pitch slated for 11 a.m.
