Colorado Christian took to the field for game number three in their series against Adams State and didn't disappoint. CCU scored early and often on their way to a historic offensive game and a dominant victory over the Grizzlies by a final score of 26-12. The Cougars collected a new program record for single game hits with 30, highlighted by the fact that every starter had multiple hits in the game. The 26 runs mark the third best in program history, also 11 doubles is now the third most in a game and the six homeruns is second best for a single game all-time.

Adams State jumped out to an early lead as they scored one run in the top half of the first inning, but CCU quickly tied things up in the bottom half thanks to a leadoff solo homerun off the bat of
Caden Walton. After CCU starter
Cameron Spaeth retired Adams State in order in the second inning, the Cougars jumped out to their first lead of the game in the bottom of the second thanks to another long ball. This time
Kade Carney delivered as he blasted a two-run homerun to right field which scored
Gabe Ramos who had doubled just ahead of him. Adams State battled back to tie the game in the third inning 3-3.

Colorado Christian regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning, a lead that they would hang onto for the remainder of the game. Frankie Shearn led off the inning with a single and
Wyatt Crenshaw was hit by a pitch to put two runners on for
Jordan Medina. Medina came through as he crushed a three-run homerun deep to left field to score Shearn and Crenshaw.
Gabe Ramos singled with two outs in the third inning to score
Major Maydon who had doubled earlier in the inning and gave CCU the 7-3 lead.

After holding the Grizzlies scoreless again in the fourth inning, Colorado Christian put the game out of reach in the bottom half.
Wyatt Crenshaw hit his second homerun of the series as he belted a two-run shot to right field to put CCU up 9-3. The scoring continued as
Major Maydon had an RBI double to score
Jordan Medina who had walked previously. That brought up
Boedy Flores who hit a three-run homerun to push the Cougars lead to double digits at 13-3.
Caden Walton collected his second hit of the inning with an RBI double, and Frankie Shearn drove in Walton with an RBI single of his own.
Wyatt Crenshaw also collected his second hit of the inning which pushed Shearn to third base and eventually he would score thanks to a defensive miscue to give CCU the commanding 16-3 lead after just four innings. The Cougars finished the fourth inning scoring nine runs on nine hits.

Despite the deficit, Adams State did not give up as they showed fight and battled back to score six runs in the fifth inning to trim the lead down to 16-9.
Major Maydon collected his second RBI double in as many innings in the bottom of the fifth inning to keep the pressure on ASU.
Wyatt Crenshaw and
Jordan Medina each had RBI ground-rule doubles in the sixth inning, followed by RBI singles from
Major Maydon and
Boedy Flores. Still in the sixth inning,
Caden Walton singled home both Flores and Maydon.
Russell Cruz delivered the final punch as he hit a three-run pinch hit homerun to put CCU on top 26-9.

Colorado Christian was led offensively by several players who all had outstanding games.
Caden Walton finished the game with four hits, four runs and four RBI.
Major Maydon also collected four hits in the game with three runs and three RBI.
Jordan Medina and
Boedy Flores both also had three hits and four RBI in the game.

The second victory in a row for CCU improves their record to 11-20 overall and 7-8 in conference play. They will be back in action on Sunday morning to take on Adams State for the final game of their four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 9AM MST.
