LAKEWOOD, CO- Colorado Christian opened their season with a home match against the visiting Angelo State Rambelles on Thursday. Despite conceding no goals in the second half, the Cougars fell to a talented Angelo State squad by a score of 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED- The Rambelles started on the front foot from the jump, controlling possession well and swarming to the ball consistently. They were rewarded with a goal in the ninth minute when Grace Jordan picked up the ball in the attacking zone and slotted it home.Â
Capri Dewing took a look for her team in the 15th minute but the Angelo State keeper was able to make the save. Reagan Urbany notched her team's second goal in the 25th minute on a tough play that she was able to control the ball on and boot it in.Â
The final goal for the Rambelles came on a cross into the box that Madison Stokes put into the back of the net. Dewing had several looks in the second half, but the Cougars could not quite seal the deal on their opportunities. The game was called with 1:25 left on the clock due to lightning in the area as Angelo State claimed the 3-0 win.
