ST. PETERSBURG, FL- Colorado Christian headed to Florida to take on Eckerd College Friday evening. Led by an early goal the Tritons came out on top by a final score of 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED- Eckerd took an early lead a little over a minute into the game with a goal from Kendall Drummond. The Cougars struggled to create a lot of pressure in the first period, not forcing the opposing keeper to do much. The Tritons continued to push offensively and were rewarded with a second goal in the 33rd minute. The two teams went to the break with Eckerd on top 2-0.Â
The Colorado Christian offense came to life in the second half, quickly threatening to score with a shot from Layla Pappas that forced a save. Jensen Leivo forced another save with a ball driven to the bottom right part of the goal. Saige Stock ripped back to back shots on goal late in the match but the Tritons keeper was up to the challenge again as they took the win by a score of 2-0.
