LAS VEGAS, NV – The Colorado Christian University Cougars were dealt their second loss of the weekend by the Cowboys of New Mexico Highlands on Saturday evening, with a final score of 79-63.
 
The Cougars started out strong and had a 15 point lead ten minutes into the first half. NMHU did not let this deter them, and responded with 18 unanswered points to take the lead with 4:30 left before the break. Heading into the locker rooms, New Mexico Highlands had the advantage by 5.
 
The Cowboys continued to carry off of their momentum, and steadily took control of the game. At the final buzzer the score was in the favor of NMHU by 16.
 
The leading scorer for the Cougars was DJ McDonald who finished with 23. Also in the double digits was Jason Gallant and Noah Jon with 10 apiece.
 
Although CCU will be on the road for their next pair of games they will still be close to home – playing at Colorado School of Mines on February 17^th and at MSU Denver on February 18^th.
