DURANT, OK- The Cougars closed their four-game series at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Sunday morning. After a fast start, the Savage Storm rallied to a 6-1 victory in the series finale.
Caden Walton led off the game with a single, and Frankie Shearn drew a walk before Jordan Medina reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Aaron Morgan then picked up an RBI as he patiently drew a walk to make it 1-0 Cougars.
Southeastern struck back in the bottom half of the first, notching two runs on the board to claim the lead. From there, a pitchers duel ensued and neither team scored until the sixth. The Savage Storm doubled home a run and tallied two more in the eighth as their pitching staff tamed Colorado Christian's offense with eight shutout innings to claim the win 6-1 in the series final game.
The Cougars will now head to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a four-game series at #18 Augustana University. The first game is slated for February 24 at 2 p.m. MST.
