ALAMOSA, CO- The Cougars sent nine athletes to the RMAC Indoor Championships Hosted by Adams State on Friday and Saturday. They saw a podium finish and Nationals times posted in a successful weekend on the track.
On the women's side, Hannah George ran the 60m in 7.59 seconds. Elizabeth Mattson ran the long 3000m race, taking ninth with a 9:59.71. Tara Smoker ran the 400m, snagging ninth with a run of 59.33.
Three Cougar men took part in the 3000m, and all placed well and posted strong times. Leading the pack was Alex Vance, running a converted time of 8:04 to claim fifth and 17th in the country with an NCAA Provisional Time. Trent Cochran matched a similar time to one he ran in Boston, netting a 8:10 with a provisional time. Isaac Russo followed with a time of 8:11 as he sits on the Provisional List with all three having a great chance at making nationals.
Hudson Majeski ran the mile, placing sixth with a mark of 4:21.18 as he holds a provisional time at the moment and awaits his fate at nationals. Tyler Bradley was a major highlight of the championships as he flew in the 200m to a time of 21.6 to place on the podium and take second place in the event.
Head Coach Jon Poag spoke on his team, saying "Tyler Bradley continues to impress by posting 21.60 and taking 2nd. Tyler was special today, he showed he is one of the best in the RMAC. Alex Vance showed a lot of grit in the 3k, posting 8:04 and improving his national ranking to 17th in the event. On a whole, there is a lot to be optimistic about heading into the outdoor season."

The Cougars will now await their times and confirm who will be heading to the NCAA Indoor Championship in Virginia Beach March 10-11.
