LAKEWOOD, CO- Colorado Christian hosted the number one team in the RMAC on Saturday as Colorado Mesa came to town. The Mavericks looked the part, overwhelming CCU by a final score of 82-43.
Bradley Land scored the first points of the game on a layup, and Noah Kon quickly followed with a layup of his own. The Mavericks started to get their offense going from there, but a Zeil three cut the early deficit to just two. Shaylen Woodberry then tied it at 9 apiece with a jumper as things started tight. A quick nine-point run sent the momentum to the visitors and they closed the half with a 43-23 advantage.
It was not the Cougars night as they could not get the shots to fall in the second half and everything seemed to go in for CMU. They continued to stretch their lead and CCU could not get close, as the final buzzer sounded with a final score of 82-43.
Colorado Christian will look to bounce back at Adams State on January 19 with tipoff at 7:30 p.m. MST.
