PITTSBURG, KS- Matthew Storer and Josh Pierantoni closed competition at the Indoor National Championships on Saturday, taking part in the 3000m event against the best runners in the nation. The two had a strong showing, as both earned All American honors for their efforts in the distance run.
The pair faced off against a loaded field of talented runners, including 10 RMAC runners out of the 17 participating. Storer started in the front and stayed connected throughout as he ran a time of 8:05.30 to claim eighth place overall. The finish gave Storer a spot on the podium as he claimed First Team All-American honors, making it two for the indoor season. Pierantoni stayed with the pack throughout a majority of the race, finishing in 14th with a run of 8:21.25 to claim second team All American honors. Pierantoni also earned a pair of All Americans to close a strong indoor season.
It was a highly successful indoor season for Storer and Pierantoni, and they will look to continue the momentum as the outdoor season begins on March 16 at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invitational in Pueblo.
