LAKEWOOD, CO- The Cougars were back in action Friday afternoon as they took on Cal State Dominguez Hills at Trailblazer Stadium. In a tight battle throughout, the Toros managed to push across a goal in a 1-0 defeat for CCU. 

Jessie Sims got the offense going early with a shot on goal that was saved, while Alana Lopp picked up a save moments later. Ava Dinverno missed just left on an attempt, while Lopp kept her team level with two more saves. As the first 45 minutes came to a close, the teams' stood tied at 0-0. 

Dinverno kept the pressure on the Toros, forcing a save less than five minutes into the half. In the 59th, CSUDH struck from a corner as they grabbed the 1-0 advantage. Ava Schock put a shot on goal that was saved and Sims forced another stop 19 minutes to go. Despite their best efforts, the Cougars could not manage to break through as they eventually fell 1-0 to the Toros. 

CCU will now head back on the road for a Sunday matchup at Eastern New Mexico at 12 p.m. MST on September 22.
