LAKEWOOD, CO— Colorado Christian University senior Jathan Rentfrow has always felt at home in the outdoors, where he spends his free time fly fishing and braving Colorado's cold winters for ice fishing. Hailing from Fort Collins, Colorado, Rentfrow grew up in a Christian family that instilled in him the values he still holds dear today. This strong foundation guided his decision to choose CCU, allowing him to pursue higher education close to home while continuing to grow his faith.

In his final year at CCU, Rentfrow returned to a world he had missed: athletic competition. He joined the CCU track and field team, competing in the 200- and 400-meter sprints. Reflecting on his decision, Rentfrow shared, "The regret of not trying would have been worse than not trying." For the first three years, he focused on academics and outdoor passions, but joining the track and field team has been about more than competition. Along with challenging himself, he has found joy in the camaraderie of his teammates and the strong bonds they've formed together.

Whether casting lines into icy waters or taking off from the starting blocks, Rentfrow embodies the spirit of CCU athletics: striving for growth, both personally and as part of a greater community.
