Colorado Christian Downed at West Texas A&M

CANYON, TX- The Cougars traveled back to Texas on Saturday as they took on West Texas A&M. The Buffaloes were simply too much on this day as a pair of first half goals were followed by two more in the second for a 4-0 setback for CCU.

Tiago Gomes fired off an early shot, but the Buffs struck for two quick goals early in the half as a foul in the box gave them a penalty that they converted and five minutes later they slotted home another goal for the 2-0 advantage. Salvador Fernandes had a shot on goal saved, and a Jackson Schroeder strike was saved as the hosts led 2-0 at the break.

Less than five minutes into the second half WTAMU struck for the third time, and a penalty in the 65th put them firmly in control 4-0. The Cougars offense could not find the back of the net as they ultimately fell 4-0.

CCU continues a long road trip with a visit to RMAC foe Westminster in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. MST on September 25.
