Lakewood, CO - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released the All-RMAC Awards this afternoon, with three different Cougars being recognized for their performance on the pitch this year.
Alexis Byrd and
Jordyn Rollins were named to 2
nd Team All-Conference, while
Kenzie Kunitz was named Honorable Mention for her first year between the posts.
Alexis Byrd: The junior from Colorado Springs, CO lead the Cougars in both goals and assists this season, making her mark as one of the most dynamic forwards this program has seen. Byrd scored a season high 7 goals this year, scoring a brace against both SWOSU and NMHU. Byrd also tallied 2 assists on the year to help push the Cougars to yet another playoff bid, and a 2
nd Team All-Conference mark for Alexis.
Jordyn Rollins: Rollins, just a true freshman, has been an anchor on the backline for the Cougars this season, earning 2
nd Team All Conference. An incredible poise and confidence from the young outside back, Rollins turned heads for her steady presence on the ball, physical defending, and dangerously long throw. Rollins notched a game winning goal against CSU-Pueblo, a vital win to push the Cougars towards post-season, as well as an assist against NMHU. Already a strong leader on the field, Rollins will no doubt be a core piece of the Cougars as they continue to make strides forward.
Kenzie Kunitz: Kenzie, a true freshman goalkeeper, makes her mark early with an Honorable Mention All-Conference nod for her work in goal. An impressive feat for the Texas native, Kunitz played an important role in the Cougars success this season, making several key saves in high pressure moments to keep the ball out of the net. Kunitz finished the season with only 15 GA, making 62 saves throughout her 16 games. As Kunitz will only continue to get better, she will continue to make her mark amongst CCU and the RMAC.
Congratulations to
Alexis Byrd,
Jordyn Rollins, and
Kenzie Kunitz for earning All-Conference honors!
