Pierce Bazil started the game with an early three-pointer as he often does, but a surge from MSUD forced a timeout trailing 14-5 early. The Cougars responded out of the timeout as

Ezra Guest nailed a three-pointer to bring his team back.
Andrew Reichart continued the rally as he went on an 8-0 run of his own to put CCU up 18-17.

Joshua Reid sent the Cougars up five, while Reid connected from deep to make it 26-24. A run from the Roadrunners was ended late in the half on a three from
Zachary Reed as CCU trailed 35-29 going to the break.
After the hosts took a 10 point lead, Guest connected on another three and Andrew hit a pair of free throws to cut the lead in half. Pierce then splashed in consecutive three-pointers to cut the lead to one, and Porter hit a three as suddenly the barrage from deep tied the contest at 56-56.
Feeling the momentum, Pierce and Reid went to work to give their team a one point lead as the final stretch of play arrived. After consecutive baskets from the Roadrunners, a
Schafer Reichart free throw cut the gap to two, but a tough close saw the hosts score six straight to close the game out on a run for the 73-65 win.
