LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their weekly honors on Tuesday, and after a complete game two-hitter with no runs allowed at Mines,
Zachary Hill has earned his first Pitcher of the Week accolade this season.
Hill was outstanding in game one of the series on the road against the Orediggers. A game originally scheduled for nine innings was shortened to seven innings due to the dominance of the offense and a gem from Hill. The senior from Texas set down the first 9 batters he faced, and he continued to shut down the Orediggers in the fourth and fifth with no runs allowed.
A leadoff single in the sixth did not deter Hill as he got the next three batters to fly out. A perfect seventh saw Zach strike out the final three batters of the game, two swinging and one looking to seal an impressive 20-0 victory. It was the best outing Hill has had at CCU as the righty was phenomenal throughout with just two hits allowed and 7 strikeouts. Only one walk was issued all game as Hill faced just three more batters than the minimum in 7.0 innings tossed.
Congratulations to
Zachary Hill on being named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week!
