Box Score LAKEWOOD, CO – Colorado Christian hosted the number one team in the nation, UCCS for senior day. Seven seniors were honored: Sarah Butler, Sarah Feller, Maddison Hogan, Sophie Kern, Emily Michalak, Dakoda Martinez, and Heidi Vereide.
UCCS got out to a quick start and did not look back as they scored three times in the first half and twice in the second to secure the 5-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Mountain Lions scored three times in six minutes in a flurry of precision strikes that showed why they are ranked number one in the country.
The Cougars had opportunities of their own, with six corner kicks in the first but unfortunately could not find the back of the net.
The second half was more of the same, with UCCS scoring twice more, and the Cougars getting four shots on goal but not being able to get anything past the goalie.
COUGAR LEADERS: Feller had two shots on goal for the Cougars, Vereide, Kern, and Adrianna Todd also had a shot on goal. Ireland VanDyke had six saves for Colorado Christian.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
