With a promising season last year that ended just short of a playoff berth the Cougars are looking to improve on the building blocks put in place by the 13-15 record.

In the pre-season coaches' poll, the Cougars were picked to finish 12th out of 16 RMAC teams, which is one spot higher than the 2018-19 pre-season poll had Colorado Christian.

"Our goal is to improve on the success we had against the top of the conference and become more consistent every game". Says fourth year head coach, Corey Laster.

Four returners and an experienced group of newcomer's will lead the Cougars on the court this season, head coach Corey Laster is hopeful about the new players on the team, "The key for the newcomers is going to be working on the team chemistry and learning the roles that each person on the team has".

With four returners it will be a matter of time before the team meshes together on the court, "We need to gain experience with each other on the court and get over the learning curve that comes with a new team", say Coach Corey Laster.

"Lourdes Gonzalez has worked really hard and been very competitive this pre-season. McClain Walker has been consistent and a hard worker, she will be a good shooter this season". Head Coach Corey Laster on the newcomers of the team looking to make an impact.

The season starts on the road for the Cougars, with two tournaments to start the year, the first is the D2 Conference Challenge in Austin TX. The Fairfield Inn Tournament follows that as the Cougars will travel to Nampa, ID.

"The start of the season will be a challenge as we learn how to play with each other and the roles each player needs to take on, really buying into the culture." Said Laster.

The first home game of the season will be on Nov. 29 as the Cougars will take on Central Washington University.
