LAKEWOOD, CO – For the first time in Colorado Christian women's golf history, their classroom success was recognized on the national scene.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association recognized the Cougars with the ninth best team GPA in the nation for the 2019-20 school year. The program put together a combined academic effort that yielded them a 3.745 GPA.

"I am really proud of these girls. It is one thing to be a successful team competitively, but then to do it in the classroom at this high level as well shows they are the real deal. They work their tails off on the course and in the classroom and I'm so happy for them to get the recognition they deserve," head coach Phil Nelson said. "We continue to press the expectations forward with our program, and they continue to meet and exceed them. They will continue to be a group to watch moving forward."

Colorado Christian was the only RMAC team recognized by the WGCA. While the RMAC doesn't give out a team academic award, Emily Donaldson, Faith Kilgore and Lainie Terrell were named to the conference's All Academic Team.
