SPEARFISH, S.D. – Brookelyn Hurlbut sets school record by leading the Cougars in scoring for her eighth straight game. Her scoring prowess was not enough to overcome the Yellow Jackets and fell 74-46.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cougars led early as Olivia Christy knocked down a three to give the Cougars a brief 3-2 lead. The lead would not last though as the Yellow Jackets went on a 21-6 run to end the first quarter.

In a quick scoring run to start the second quarter the Cougars scored six straight points put could not pull any closer as Black Hills went into the locker rooms at halftime with a 32-18 lead.

Black Hills furthered the lead in the third with a 14-0 run which the Cougars responded with a 13-8 run, but still trailed Black Hills heading into the final quarter.

The Cougars could not close the lead by any more in the fourth and Black Hills closed out the game in the fourth.

COUGAR LEADERS: Hurlbut led the team once again in scoring with 14 points. Sam Nunez was second with 10. Hurlbut also led the team with eight rebounds. Nunez and Hurlbut also led the team with three steals.
