The ThunderWolves Down the Cougars

LAKEWOOD, CO - Colorado Christian concedes three goals in a 3-0 loss to CSU Pueblo.

HOW IT HAPPENED - The ThunderWolves were driven to solidify their chance to make the RMAC Tournament. In the 10th minute, CSU Pueblo forward Jepperson, fired a hard driven ball from the middle of the field. The ball was hit with such power it went through Ireland Van Dyke's hands into the goal. The Cougars did not give up and fought back.

The next CSU Pueblo goal came 14 minutes later with miscommunication from the Cougar's defense. Assisted by Meredith, Siegel capitalized on getting through the back line and chipping the ball over Van Dyke's head.

With only four shots in the first half, Colorado Christian could not put the ball in the back of the net. In the 34th minute there was a foul in the Cougar's box resulting in a penalty kick. The ThunderWolves scored their third goal shooting to the bottom left on the penalty kick. 

Coming into the second half Colorado Christian held them off. They retained a clean half keeping CSU Pueblo at their 3-0 lead. The Cougars had more chances to score as the ThunderWolves defense started to break down. Taya Starnes led the Cougars in shots tallying three and Capri Dewing with two. Colorado Christian had a few chances in the box to score when the CSU Pueblo defense and goalkeeper had fumbled around with the ball but could not capitalize.

UP NEXT - The Cougars last RMAC conference game will be this Sunday, 31 against UCCS at 2:30pm as they compete for a place in the RMAC tournament.
