LAKEWOOD, CO - The Cougars add another win to their record after their 3-0 victory against Fort Lewis.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Colorado Christian did not mess around. They came out in the first half with an aggressive attacking tactic and a composed mentality.Â
Capri Dewing notched her fourth career goal of the season in the 25th minute of the game giving the Cougars their 1-0 lead.
Jensen Leivo, with the assist, had a throw in that went straight to Dewing's feet. Dewing cut around a defender putting the ball at her left foot and had a low driven shot from the top corner of the box into the lower back corner of the net.Â
Just six minutes later the Cougars received a free kick on the 40 yard-line.
Taya Starnes lofted the free kick to the back side of the box where
Saige Stock was there to head the ball into the far side of the goal in the 31st minute of the game.Â
Coming into the second half with a 2-0 lead Colorado Christian did not let down. They solidified their win when
Saige Stock had her second goal in the 53rd minute, unassisted, to lead the team to a 3-0 win. Stock was dribbling down the sideline in their attacking third then cut it back and ripped a left-footed shot curving it to the upper 90.
Goalkeeper Ireland Van Dyke kept Colorado Christian in the game with her first shut out of the season.Â
