Last week the Cougars traveled to the sunshine state to play Lynn University and Palm Beach Atlantic. Colorado Christian came with a winning mentality with the results to prove it.

Lourdes Gonzalez was the player to watch in both games due to her high number of points and her motivation to defend their lead. Against Lynn she recorded 15 points, five assists and six rebounds.

Closely following,
Sydney Daniels, registered nine points with five rebounds and four assists.

The Cougars gained the lead in the first quarter against Lynn 13-12. The second and third quarter they fell behind by a few points. However, they rallied and notched 19 points in the fourth quarter to end the game with a deserving 63-57 victory.

Going into their last match in Florida, they were driven to add another win under their belt. They entered the game with the energy and fight they needed as they registered 22 points in the first quarter to take the lead.

Colorado Christian took the lead at the end of each quarter despite both teams tying up the score. The lead changed 11 times but the Cougars pulled ahead.

Sophia Karasinski showed off her abilities racking up 20 points and one rebound. Gonzalez followed with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Preseason Poll
The Cougars were voted to finish in the tenth slot in the RMAC preseason poll. Colorado School of Mines is predicted to finish in the first spot, tallying 11 first place votes.

Head Coach -Â Diane Thompson
Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge to the Cougars program. A well know coach along the Front Range Thompson has experienced a wide range of success during coaching tenure.
Most recently she has served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Regis University. During her two seasons with the Rangers program she played a key role in the squad's recruiting; including the RMAC's co-Freshman of the Year, Erin Fry.Â
Prior to her role at Regis, Thompson was the women's basketball head coach at Dakota Ridge High School. Â During her four years, she achieved a pair of state Sweet 16 appearances and help coach four of her players to compete at the collegiate level.Â
She is no stranger to the RMAC as she has coached at three different conference programs. Along with her time spent with Regis, Thompson was the Associate Head Coach for the Women's Basketball Program at CSU-Pueblo (2005-2007), where she organized player development along with scouting and recruiting for a team that received an NCAA tournament bid in the 2005-06 season.Â
Thompson also has coached for Fort Lewis (2004-2005), and MSU Denver (2003-2004). In both coaching roles she played a pivotal in recruiting game changers to the programs and worked in player commitment and fundraising for the teams.Â
In addition to her professional coaching experience, she spent several years working in the private sector in the Denver area.Â
As a player, was a three time All-American, a three-year captain, three year All-Conference player and set several school records in her time at Cal State Bakersfield (2000-2003). As part of the team, Thompson helped lead the Roadrunners to two conference championships and an NCAA Tournament Elite Eight appearance. Â
"It is a blessing to become a part of the Cougar family. Â I am here to make us believe we are destined to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Â You might not bet on us now but never bet against us," Thompson said.Â
Thompson earned her Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Kinesiology. She completed her Masters Degree from Regis in Business Organization and Leadership.
