RMACÂ and School Honors
In a season of ever-changing events, Colorado Christian track and field program made history. The Cougars came away with two All Americans and team points on the leader board at the NCAA Championships.
Michelle Kuipers became the first woman Track and Field athlete to be awarded with the All-American honors. Brand new into the program last season as a freshman, she ran the 800-meter race in 2:07:32 to place fourth. Kuipers is now ranked in Colorado Christians' record book recording the fastest 800-meter race in school history. Not only that, she is also ranked as she holds the fastest mile in school history at 5:05:17.
Searle posted a personal and school record time of 29:22:39 in the 10,000-meter race to place eight and became the schools second ever track and field All-American. He holds third place in the schools record book for the 5,000-meter race registering 15:05:46, just behind
Josh Pierantoni who holds the first and second slot.
More Than An Athlete
Ryder Searle was awarded Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for his incredible performance on and off the course and track. Last season, Searle earned All-American honors after finishing in eighth place in the 10,000-meter race at the NCAA National Championships.
Mountain Lion FieldhouseÂ
Located at the base of the iconic Pulpit Rock in one of the most beautiful settings in the Rocky Mountains, Mountain Lion Fieldhouse offers one of the finest indoor track and field facilities in the NCAA. The Fieldhouse boasts a 200-meter, 18 meter radius track oval with eight sprint lanes, two long/triple jump pits and a pole vault pit on the infield of the oval. Â The facility also includes a large, caged area for the shot put and weight throw located on the south end of the facility. Â The facility is the home of the UCCS Track & Field and Cross Country programs and is located at exactly 6,291 feet in elevation. It has the 2020 RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.Â
