Cougars Remain on the Prowl for Weekend Series

The Colorado Christian Women's Basketball team will remain on the road this weekend as they will take part in the Al Kaly Classic hosted by CSU Pueblo down in Pueblo, CO. The Cougars will be looking to build off of their last game on Friday 11/18 as they square off against MidAmerica Nazarene University at 1PM MST, followed by a game against the University of Alaska at Fairbanks on Saturday 11/19 also at 1PM MST.
 
Friday 11/18 will see the Cougs facing off against the Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene University. On the year, the Pioneers boast an impressive 3-1 record early on the year. They are led on the year by senior Lydia Ostenson. Ostenson is averaging 20.3 points per game while shooting over 50% from the field.
 
Saturday 11/19 pits the Cougars against the Nanooks of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Nanooks are 0-1 on the young season and currently have three players averaging double figures in points led by Kayla Johnson who averages 26 points per game.
 
CCU is 1-1 to begin the year after collecting a 71-62 victory in their last game out against the University of Texas at Tyler. The Cougars are being led in scoring this year by Victoria Perez who averages 11 points per game, followed closely by Regan LoConte (9.5 PPG) and Dasiya Jones (9.0 PPG). Makenna Bodette is also having a strong start to the season as she is averaging 8 PPG, 7 Rebounds per game and has also added 3 steals and 3 blocks on the defensive end.
 
Head Coach Diane Thompson spoke heading into the weekend pair of games as she said, "We are excited to keep building from last weekend, and see if this young team can continue to grow. We are just focusing on getting one percent better every day and give it to the Lord and we will see what happens!"
