USAF ACADEMY, CO- The Cougars got their final tune up of the season before the RMAC Indoor Track and Field championships at the USAF Academy on Friday. Colorado Christian continued to improve with some excellent times as they head into next weekends' championships.
WOMEN'S RECAP
The Cougars put a multitude of runners in the one mile event, and Elizabeth Mattson paced her team with a time of 5:30.76 to finish sixth. Callie Ketner came in right behind her in seventh with a time of 5:34.25. Ana Muehlbauer came in 11th with a mark of 5:39.95 and Kenzie Hartwid followed her in 14th with a time of 5:43.98. Sarah Hamlin posted a 5:52.02 and Aislinn Warmka and Kylie Warner ran times of 6:08.71 and 6:11.67 respectively.
Jordyn Gutridge took part in the 800m, placing 12th with a time of 2:40.34. Tara Smoker ran a blazing fast time in the 400m, smashing the school record to finish fourth with a time of 1:00.65. Hannah George put up a 26.24 in the 200m to take home fourth, and Ashley Vil posted a 8.31 in the 60m to close the day.
MEN'S RECAP
Jaxon Hinch got the men started in the high jump, taking home the third spot in the event with a mark of 1.99m. Isaac Russo placed sixth in the mile with a time of 4:17.73. Jeremy Miller followed in ninth with a mark of 4:20.41 while Hudson Majeski placed 10th with a run of 4:21.08. Chase Bracher placed 12th with a time of 4:23.23 while Nicholas Ramirez put up a mark of 4:41.67. Noah Burroughs closed out the Cougars runners with a run of 4:45.96.
The Cougars dominated the 800m, placing three runners in the top five. Aidan Day won the event with a time of 1:58.76 and Tanner James took third with a mark of 2:00.74. Kyle Gee followed in fourth with a time of 2:02.12. Jacob Marker took seventh with a run of 2:06.74 and Matthew Olech followed with a 2:07.68 to take eighth.
Tyler Bradley broke his own school record in the 200m, posting a 22.13 to finish second, breaking his previous record of 22.25. Bradley also competed in the 60m, taking home 11th with a time of 7.14. Zach Le ran a 7.26 to place 15th in the event.
UP NEXT- The Cougars will now compete at the RMAC championships in Gunnison February 25-26 before they begin the outdoor season in March.
