The Colorado Christian track teams for both the men and women were back competing on Saturday in Pueblo, CO at the Spank Blasing Open hosted by CSU-Pueblo. Only a small group of Cougars competed on the day as the team is pacing themselves for the long season ahead.
Â
Trent Cochran made the biggest impact on the day as he ran the 5000M. Cochran ran a time of 14:35.48 and finished in fourth place in the event. More importantly, that time qualifies him for the NCAA Championships later in the year. Cochran is in good position on the provisional list as he currently sits in sixth place overall in the nation.
Â
Tyler Bradley also posted a good day as he competed in the 100M and the 200M. Bradley finished the 100M with a time of 10.66, and the 200M with a time of 21.26.
Â
Head coach
Jon Poag spoke about the day as he said, "I was excited to see Trent post such a quality time in his season opener, and Tyler was really sharp today. Those two competed at the top end of their races and I am excited to see how their seasons progress."
Â
Next up for the teams will be a trip to Grand Junction, CO to compete at the Maverick Multi & Open hosted by Colorado Mesa University on Friday April 1
st, and Saturday April 2
