Colorado Christian made the trip up to Boulder, CO to compete in the CU Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado. Several strong performances led the way for the Cougars as they continue to build up their Outdoor season times.
Shannon King had a strong season debut in the 3000M Steeplechase as she finished in second overall. The windy conditions seemed to impact the times run during the meet.

Shannon King's second place finish in the Steeplechase highlighted the Women's T&F team for the meet. King finished with a time of 11:25.19. The 800M had good times come in from
Michelle Kuipers (2:18.53) and
Benisa Ellis (2:20.17).
Tara Smoker finished the 400M with an impressive time of 58.55 which is just short of her own school record time of 57.95 which she ran the week before.

The Men's team was highlighted by the performances in the 800M event. Four runners finished with a sub two-minute time led by
Aidan Day with a time of 1:55.96.
Hudson Majeski (1:57.64),
Jeremy Miller (1:57.99) and
Chase Bracher (1:58.72) rounded out the finishes under two minutes in the 800M.
Trent Cochran had an impressive time of 3:56.86 in the 1500M.

Jon Poag spoke about his team's performance saying, "We had a number of good performances today, but I know the team is hungry for even better results. There is certainly more work to do, and I expect the team will be eager to get back to training this week."

The team will have a short week of training as their next meet is the Bryan Clay Invite hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA. That meet is scheduled for April 13-15. Stay tuned to CCUCougars.com for all updates and results.
