CCU is getting ready to kick off the New Year in 2023 at home as they prepping to square off against a pair of RMAC opponents to begin the New Year. They will begin with a matchup against Adams State University on Friday 1/13 before taking on Fort Lewis on Saturday 1/14.

On Friday night, Adams State is coming to the CCU Event Center to take on CCU. The Grizzlies are coming into the game with a 10-5 overall record, and are 6-3 in conference play. Adams State is led offensively by Harmanie Dominguez who is averaging 13.3 PPG and 4.4 RPG. Also being led by Sharmayne Finley who is averaging 12.6 PPG and 4.6 RPG. Darlisha Reed leads the team in rebounding as she tallies 5.7 RPG to go along with 7.8 PPG. Tip is scheduled for 5PM MST.

Fort Lewis comes to town on Saturday night as they will be taking on the Cougars. Fort Lewis is currently 6-8 on the year overall, and 3-5 in conference play. They are being led by a talented freshman Lanae Billy who averages 17.1 PPG on the year. They also get a good amount of production from Kelsey Sorenson who averages 12.3 PPG along with leading the team in rebounding averaging 7.6 RPG. The game is set to tip off on Saturday at 5PM MST at the CCU Event Center.

CCU uses a balanced team attack which is why they have five players averaging over eight points per game.
Maggie Phipps currently leads the team averaging 9.6 PPG followed by
Victoria Perez at 8.9 PPG.
Dasiya Jones (8.6 PPG),
Makenna Bodette (8.3 PPG), and
Agnes Paul (8.2 PPG) round out the leading scorers on the team.

The Cougars are entering the weekend with a 6-9 overall record and are 2-7 in conference play. They will be looking to get back into the win column as they return home with a pair on conference matchups.
