LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Announced their Men's Cross Country Summit Award winner on Thursday, and the Cougars' Klay Grant was named as the recipient of this prestigious award.
The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA), participating at the finals sites for each of the RMAC championships.
All GPAs are based on a straight grading scale to ensure consistency among institutions. Any tie is broken by the number of credits completed.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above, who participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. They must be an active member of the team, traveling and competing at the championship. Graduate students are not eligible.
The sophomore from Muskegon, Michigan earns the honor with a grade-point average of 4.0 in English. Grant recently took part in the Lewis Crossover, as the team took second place overall as he posted a time of 25:04.0. Klay will now look forward to the upcoming RMAC Championships October 21 at Wash Park in Denver as he looks to lead his team to a strong placing. Grant has modeled excellence both on and off the course, and he has been honored for his excellent efforts in the classroom.
Congratulations to Klay Grant on being named the 2023 Men's Cross Country RMAC Summit Award Winner!
