LAKEWOOD, CO- After an incredible buzzer beating three sealed a win at Chadron State on Tuesday, the Cougars will look to keep that momentum as they head home to take on Western Colorado on February 4th.
The Mountaineers are fresh off a one point win over Colorado Mesa, and will take on the Chadron State team CCU just beat on February 2nd before they face Colorado Christian. Offensively, Emmery Wagstaff leads Western Colorado with 15.7 points a contest, while Rachel Cockman pours in 12.7 a game. Wagstaff carries her team on the boards as well, pulling 6.2 on average per contest. Cockman again follows her with 5.8 rpg. Again, Wagstaff leads the effort in assists, dishing out 2.2 per game, while Alyza Aikins puts out two per contest. WCU is a team hungry to close the season the right way, and will pose a challenge to the hosts on Saturday night.
Colorado Christian is coming off their most thrilling win of the year on Tuesday evening. Maggie Phipps sealed the game as she drilled a three as time expired for a 74-71 victory on the road over Chadron State. The Cougars will look to take that momentum and use it on their home court Saturday evening. Phipps leads the effort offensively, pouring in 12.4 ppg. Dasiya Jones follows with 9.9 per contest. Agnes Paul continues to lead her team in rebounds, averaging 7.4 a night. Maggie Hutka follows her with 5.7 rpg. PG Nicole Bowlin puts out 3.7 apg, while Victoria Perez averages 3.3. This is a Colorado Christian team looking for a second straight conference win, and they will surely be locked in come Saturday night when they take on the Mountaineers at 5 p.m. MST.
