LAKEWOOD, CO- For the first time this year, CCU has swept the RMAC weekly softball awards. Abrie Castillo has been named Pitcher of the Week, while Miki Berg is the conference's Player of the Week after tremendous performances in Colorado Christian's sweep of CSU Pueblo over the weekend. 

Castillo got the nod for two starts against the Thunderwolves, and she took the opportunity to dominate in a pair of victories. In her first start on Friday, Abrie fanned 11 batters on her way to a complete game victory. The Texas native allowed just four hits and one run on her way to the win. Castillo followed with another gem from the circle the next day, forcing 10 groundouts and striking out three as she picked up a complete game shutout win. Over the weekend, Castillo allowed just a single run on seven hits and struck out 14 to up her win total on the season to five. The righty currently holds an impressive ERA of 1.04 to lead her team. 

Miki Berg had an incredible weekend offensively for her team, starting hot and never looking back. Game one saw her draw two walks, both of which she came around to score off of. Her bat really came alive in the second contest, as she blasted a three-run homer in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and lead her team to victory. Game three saw more power from Berg, as the senior from Nevada picked up a pair of RBI on a single and a solo bomb in another dominant win. The icing on the cake for Berg came  in the last game of the series, as she yet again crushed a three-run home run in a 12-0 victory for her squad. Overall, Berg finished the weekend with eight RBI and three homers in an incredible display of power.
