DENVER,CO- The Cougars made the trip to nearby Regis for a Saturday morning matchup. The hosts jumped ahead early and did not look back as the Rangers won big at their home stadium.
CCU struck first in the first inning, as
Gabe Ramos picked up an RBI groundout. Two runs from Regis put them up after one inning 2-1. Things unraveled from there as the Rangers began to pour in the runs with a 12-run second inning.
Caden Walton scored on a wild pitch in the third, but the Cougars offense could not quite get going all day. In the end, it was the Rangers coming away with the 30-2 victory.
CCU tallied seven hits, all coming from different players on the day. Ramos picked up the lone RBI for his team in the fist inning, while
Chaz Graham worked the final inning with no runs allowed on just one hit.
Colorado Christian will look to get back on track on March 5 as they head to Golden to take on Colorado School of Mines at 3 p.m. MST.
