LOS ANGELES, CA- Colorado Christian headed to California to take part in the Cal State LA Twilight Open and the Bryan Clay Invitational. The team saw many strong performances as they ramp up towards the RMAC Championships.
DAY ONE
Tyler Bradley got it started at the Twilight Open with a strong run in the 200m of 21.70 to claim second place overall. Mateo Luna excelled in the 1500m, taking first place with a time of 14:48.26. Klay Grant followed in third place with a run of 14:55.06.
Over at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Alex Vance took part in the 3000 steeplechase, posting a solid time of 9:17.14 in the event.
DAY TWO
Luke Meyer participated in the lengthy 10,000m run, posting a stellar time of 30:51.53 on the second day of competition in Azusa. In the 5000m, All American Josh Pierantoni led the way, setting a personal best and school record with a great run of 13:52.62 to put him at 8th in all of DII. Trent Cochran ran in a different heat of the 5000, posting a 14:07.85 for a personal best and 20th spot in DII. Right behind his teammate was Isaac Russo with a 14:08.43 for 21st in division 2.
DAY THREE
Bradley kicked off day three at the Bryan Clay with a run of 10.67 in the 100m. He followed that with a time of 21.58 in the 200m. The 1500m was a strong event that saw several strong times posted. Hudson Majeski got it started with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 3:49.25. Russo finished just behind him with a 3:49.28 for another qualifying time. Vance came in at 3:49.56, while Cochran posted a 3:50.27. Chase Bracher recorded a 3:51.86 in the event.
It was a very impressive trip out West for the Cougars, and they will now return home for the Mines Pre-Conference Invite April 21-22.
