Cho and Park Co-Champions, Cougars Earn Record Fourth Straight Tournament Title

WAIMEA, HI- Colorado Christian headed to Hawaii as they close the fall season with a pair of tournaments, starting with the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate played at the Mauna Lani North Course. The team played tremendous golf throughout to claim their record breaking fourth straight tournament title, going -30 over the two rounds of play. Sangha Park and Sungyeop Cho were named co-champions after the duo shot identical scores in each round to share the individual title. 

ROUND ONE 
The Cougars were sizzling hot in round one as three players shot the low score of 66. Cho was one of them as he netted four birdies and an eagle in a bogey free round. Park also fired a 66 with an impressive seven birdies. Ben Fowler, competing as an individual, fired a career low of 66 as he sank five birdies and an incredible two eagles on hole 10 and 18. Adam Duncan followed with a 67 as he had four birdies and an eagle, and Xavier Bighaus carded a 71 as he had a pair of birdies and two eagles as well. Bradley Mulder shot a 73 with a pair of birdies on the round. 

Peyton Jones and Camron Reddell also competed as individuals for the Cougars, and Jones had an eagle and birdie to score a 74. Reddell closed with an 80 on the day. 

ROUND TWO
Park and Cho continued their hot shooting from the day before intp the final round of play as they pushed towards a title. Park shot a strong 68 as he tallied six birdies to go -10 on the tournament and claim a share of the individual title. Sharing the title with him was his teammate Cho who carded a 68 as well with five birdies to go -10. Duncan came right behind them as he claimed third with a final round 70 on five birdies. Fowler showed his skill as he posted a 73 with three birdies to tie for sixth. Bighaus came in a tie for 11th as he shot a 70, and Mulder tied for 37th with a 74. 

Jones came home with a tie for 17th as he fired a stellar 69 on five birdies. Reddell finished with a 76 with three birdies on the back nine to tie for 84th. 

As a team, the Cougars shot an impressive -30 (270,276) as they claimed the team title by 17 strokes over second place. The buzzsaw that is the CCU Men's Golf team continues to roll as they have now won all four tournaments they have competed in this fall, with four different winners in each. 

Colorado Christian will look to make it a perfect fall season as they close out play in 2024 at the HPU Sharks Shootout at the Waikaloa Beach Resort October 25-26.
