Findlay Coleman, a young soccer player with roots in the UK, shares a unique and inspiring journey of self-discovery, sports, faith, and family support that led to pursuing a college athletic career in the United States. Once reluctant to join in the sport that captivated his family, he now thrives as a dedicated athlete, a team player, and an aspiring role model for young athletes. 

As a child, he often felt sidelined as his brother and father played soccer together while he preferred to play with his sister instead. It wasn't until a family vacation that he chose to learn the game, and from that day, his passion grew, leading him down an unexpected path of commitment and growth.  

His faith also played a critical role, particularly during a time when Sunday matches clashed with church attendance. Choosing to prioritize his faith, he later found a team that allowed him to play on a different day, a pivotal decision that helped elevate his game. 

"My faith has always been a source of strength and identity for me," he says. "Knowing that my purpose goes beyond the sport gives me peace, even during challenging times." His supportive family, who has watched his journey closely, continue to cheer him on even from afar, often waking at odd hours to live-stream his matches from the UK. 

His move to the United States has opened new doors. The opportunity to play college soccer in a faith-centered environment has strengthened his sense of belonging, and he feels embraced by the supportive community of like-minded students and teammates.
Aside from soccer, he enjoys hobbies that include hair cutting and managing a small soccer-themed clothing brand with friends. Driven by a love for sports, he dreams of becoming a PE teacher in the UK, where he hopes to inspire and mentor young people from diverse backgrounds. 

Reflecting on his journey, he says, "soccer has taught me resilience, faith, and the joy of community. I hope to use what I've learned to help others grow and find their passion.
