CCU Set for Trip to New Mexico for NCAA West/South Central Regional Championships

LAKEWOOD, CO- The Cougars have enjoyed a historic 2023-24 season on the links, but this weekend there is only one goal in mind. The team is headed to Las Cruces, New Mexico as the #1 seed in the South Central Regional as they will take part in Regionals against some of the best teams in the country.

Currently ranked #5 in both the coaches and NCAA poll, CCU is eager to prove that they are one of the best teams in the country as they head to the NCAA West/South Central Regional Championships at University Golf Course in Las Cruces, New Mexico. With four tournament wins under their belts, including three in the spring and a recent conference title, the Cougars are poised to make noise at the regional tournament. The top five teams from the Regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships in Florida, something just one other CCU Men's golf team has done in the history of the program.

The Cougars have played 31 rounds of golf throughout the fall and spring, and time and time again they have proven they can beat anyone on any given day. The team is playing their best golf of the season at the right time, carding their lowest team round with a tally of 269 (-19) in round one of the recent RMAC Championships on the way to their first title in program history. With four wins and five second place finishes as a team, CCU holds a 121-16 record head to head, and they will look to improve that in New Mexico May 9-11 to book a spot at the National Championships.
