LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced the annual winner of the Sportsmanship Cup on Thursday, and for the seventh consecutive year and eleventh time overall, Colorado Christian has been honored with the award.
The eleventh cup for the Cougars is the most of any school in the RMAC since the award was introduced in the 2006-2007 season.
The RMAC Sportsmanship Cup is designed to honor the institution which upholds the sportsmanship ideals held by the RMAC and the NCAA. The RMAC strives to promote sportsmanship and ethical conduct in every aspect of intercollegiate athletics. Student-athletes, coaches, administrators, officials, and spectators should act with respect and dignity as to uphold the integrity of themselves, their institutions, the NCAA, and intercollegiate athletics as a whole.
"On behalf of all the Colorado Christian University Athletes and Coaches, the CCU Athletics Department is grateful to be recognized as the RMAC Sportsmanship Cup winner for the 2023-2024 season. Competing with excellence and character is a high value for us at CCU, and I am proud of the intentional effort invested by our coaches and athletes to compete in a way that is honoring Jesus Christ!", Athletic Director Brian Wall said.
Voting for the award is done by institutional Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) team representatives and coaches. Voters consider the conduct of the student-athletes and coaches only.
Congratulations to all our student athletes and coaches for showing good sportsmanship throughout their respective sports to bring the cup home for the sixth year in a row!
